When is the Recall Election

The Pine-Strawberry Water Improvement District Recall Elections are scheduled for March 11, 2008.

The Recall Elections will be conducted by mail-in ballots. Voted ballots may be deposited at the library during regular library hours beginning February 11, 2008.

Why is There a Recall Election

Those opposed to the K2 well development have initiated the recall process for four of the seven board members. Those opposed are hoping to gain enough votes on the board to shut down the K2 well project.

A vote to retain the PSWID board members is a vote to develop the K2 well. A vote to remove the PSWID board members is a vote to leave the water situation as it is for years to come.

In addition, those opposed to K2 have stated their desire to have the board vote to purchase PWCo and SWCo. This will result in many negative impacts to the community. These impacts are discussed in detail here: Water Company Purchase.
